The guides did an absolutely excellent job in educating, and inspiring us. The sanctuary manager and all the staff are truly wonderful; they are kind, dedicated and passionate about elephant conservation. Yes, do this!! It will make your trip, and your visit will also support important conservation initiatives. If you can't make it, please do consider donating to this very worthy cause. Without it, these elephants would be in chains and Cambodia would be facing a future where these incredible animals were no longer around... At the sanctuary, they are now being very well looked after, are happy and regaining their freedom, and are getting back where they belong.
If you are looking for a 4 star boat trip, don't plan on going on this boat. If you are looking for a relaxing, different way to see the countryside other than from a bus, or car, then take this boat. The seats are wooden and uncomfortable, but if they get that uncomfortable grab a extra pillow and sit on that. It took us 6 hours and really? It did not seem that long to my family, as you are busy watching the stunning scenery and the people. There is a toilet on the boat, so if you are in dire straits, it so you could be in for a surprise, just take your own tip or handy wipes. The boat stops for a 15 min break for food/snacks approximately 2 hour from siem reap, so take snacks and drinks from Battambang. Would I do it again rather than take a bus for 2 hours? Probably yes, I enjoyed the scenery that much and it's kind of a downtime before you are thrown into the busy schedules of siem reap and the angkor area.
I am sure we were lucky as our trip only took about seven hours, had no mishaps and was a feats for the eyes. Amazing views of life on Tonle Sap and the waterways up to Battambang. This is a 'must do'. There are no perfect seats - sitting next to the window can, however, be quite deafening so maybe nice that one! It was actually quite cold for the first half of the journey. Bizarre though it may sound so worth be prepared.
We came across this activity on the website and instantly became interested. The pick-up from the hotel was on time and the ride pretty comfortable. We were received extremely well by the Rangers/Guides and the Manager at the location. We watched the safety video while we were offered cold towels and hot tea. The activity itself was a lot of fun and our two safety guides Sreang and Peoun as well as the photographer Tinan (you can hire one at an additional cost) were amazing. They made the entire experience worthwhile with their enthusiasm and genuine interest in ensuring that we had a great time. But it was very clear from the get go that our safety was their first priority. Zip lining above the canopy of Angkor Archaeological Park was an experience in itself. After ziplining we walked back (10 mins) through the forest to the first location where we were offered cold towels and tea again. During our walk Sreang showed and shared a lot of interesting facts about the flora and fauna of Angkor Wat. We ended the tour with a delicious lunch and received the pictures of our adventure a day later via email. Thank you guys for making it fun and entertaining! Highly recommended!
This is a must do in Siem Reap, it was amazing. We were picked up from our hotel on time in a comfortable, air conditioned bus. When we arrived wild baboons were playing in the trees and we were ushered over to look by the friendly staff members, there was nothing they couldn't do for us. We were offered a cup of beautiful rosella tea and after filling out the paperwork we watched a safety video. The zipline started off with an easy one to get used to what it and like and it was fantastic. The views from up top over the rainforest were magnificent. Our safety leaders Sreang, Vuthy and cameraman Tinan were very friendly and great fun to share ziplining with. They were excellent at encouraging one of our group who was frightened and helped make our experience so special, thank you guys. Would highly recommend.
