Koh Ta Kiev

Every backpacker dreams of finding their very own “Beach” and in almost every way that is what we experienced on Koh Takiev. leaving this island was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, especially considering that once you leave a paradise in South East Asia, it is irreversibly changed by the time you return. The paradise I am describing is called Koh Takeo and was roughly an hours boat ride from the main Wharf in Sihnaoukville. My friends and I accidentally stumbled across this hideout on a somewhat depressing day tour that stopped over on the island for a lunch break. The operation is a small resort/camp-site run by an American and Italian Chef, who spend 6-months of the year working their arses off to create the perfect backpackers paradise. Accommodation is simple ( A hammock with a small roof strung between two poles) yet the food is insanely delicious. With their wood fired oven, and culinary expertise they manage to cook gourmet Italian food on demand, while making you feel like you have found a home away from home.
